Price: $12.95

Boxwave makes a wide range of accessories for just about any device that you can
take with you. One of their case lines is the ActiveCase which we are going to
take a look at today for the iPod Touch.
Design 7/10
The Activecase has a fairly basic clamshell design. The front and back pieces
come together to form the case over the iPod Touch and optionally you can screw
on the belt clip. I have to take off points for the design as it is very basic
without much to set it apart from the crowd and it looks cheap from your initial
first look at it.

Build Quality 6/10
The build quality is decent, but very cheap. Things are where they are supposed
to be and everything fits properly, but it is very thin plastic that could
easily snap if put together improperly. Looking at the belt clip you see the
same cheap quality and the plastic feels like it could easily snap with just a
bit of pressure in the right spot.
Usage 7/10
Getting your iPod into the case is very easy and it just snaps together around
it.

If you do want to use use the belt clip you have to remove the case from the
iPod, screw in the belt clip stud, and then reassemble the case. Not the easiest
way to go about things.

Once mounted the belt clip does what it supposed to, but is pretty flimsy, I
do not know if I would trust it for long term rough usage.

Price 7/10
Yes, the price is cheap at $12.95. But there are better cases for the money out
there like the JavoEdge AlloyVision which gives you better build quality and
even some bonuses like the kickstand.
Overall the ActiveCase is ok, but very cheap and I think you could do better
for the price range. It does provide decent protection though with a removable
belt clip, so it is worth a look depending on your needs.
Pros:
- Cheap
- Lightweight
- Included removable belt clip
Cons:
- Clearly Cheap feel
- Flimsy belt clip
- Maybe other alternatives in the price range better?
