Our friends at Krusell have recently brought to our attention their new case for the 40gb iPod and iPod Photo models. This is a leather type case with a clear plastic inside that holds the iPod in place. The neat idea behind this is that it looks as if the iPod is suspended almost magically in the case (you do not see any arms or holders holding the iPod).

The case comes in white and black, our sample happened to be white. The leather is a good quality leather, it is not unbelievable like Piel Frama or Vaja leather, but it is good quality comparable with Sena Cases. On the front of the case you notice Krusell's logo badge. The badge looks very nice and adds a professional touch to the case. On the back of the case you find the Multi-Dapt system that is found on most of Krusell's cases. The Multi-Dapt system allows a wide variety of belt clips and holders to be attached to the back of the case depending on what type of clip or holder you would like to use. I used the case with the standard belt clip which worked well and seemed to be a very good quality belt clip. On other cases from Krusell, the Multi-Dapt system has proven to be a strong, reliable system.

To keep the case closed, there is a snap closure with a strap coming off the front of the case. On the inside of the case you find two credit card style slots plus the top is cut out a bit to allow you to plug in your headphones with the case closed. To hold the iPod there is a clear plastic that you slide your iPod into. There is then a cutout for the click wheel so you can use your iPod in the case. There also is a cutout for the sync port at the bottom of the plastic.

The case was a tight fit at first for my 30gb iPod (the smallest iPod that they say works in this case as it is also for the larger 60gb iPod). But over time the plastic forms to your iPod to provide a good fit.

Overall I liked this case. It worked well and was of good quality, the only bad thing was that it was a tight fit.

Pros:

  • Low Bulk
  • Good Protection
  • Easy to put in the case
  • Good Quality Leather

Cons:

  • Tight Fit

Thanks to Krusell for the Review Sample!
