The Macally PODWave is a self contained powered stereo speaker system that attaches to your Ipod. The PODWave comes in a professional looking blister pack along with a small instruction guide, and one AA battery required for use. Right out of the package, you are ready to go and have everything you need to use the PODWave with your Ipod.

The PODWave is round in shape with two grayish screens on either end that produce the sound. Being all white, PODWave matches the Ipod perfectly. There also is a small on off switch on the back that you use to turn the PODWave on and off. The PODWave mounts on the Ipod easily. It really just plugs in like headphones.

The sound produced is very good and stereo. Volume is a bit limited, and this is by no means a full stereo to use in a room. But you can get decent volume to use while at a desk or for when it is sitting next to you. The bass is good and the sound is rich and not cheap sounding. I personally really liked the sound and thought it was quite good. There was no tinny sound that can sometimes come out of small speakers.

The speakers also have a small indent to go around the hold button on the top of the Ipod. This helps to keep the PODWave from spinning around (since it is only held in by the headphone plug) and it also allows the PODWave to sit snuggly against the Ipod.

Overall I really liked the PODWave. It is by no means a stereo for a whole room. But it is a good alternative to headphones for personal listening and the quality is good enough to impress anyone. The styling and quality is also very good, and looks great.
