Link: www.Marware.com Price: $34.95 Marware has always provided us with very high quality products for Apple (Mac) products, and today I am proud to review their TrailVue for the 4th Generation (Click Wheel) iPods. First impressions of this case are very good. Looking through the case, at the stitching, cutouts, etc. everything looked perfect and I saw no apparent flaws in manufacture, loose threads, etc.
This case is made out of a material almost like jeans. Marware features a few different color combinations you can find on their website, for this review we received the Black w/Gray Stripe as shown in the pictures. The case is a fairly simple flip type case for your iPod with cutouts for the sync connector and headphones. The flip part of the case stays shut via a velcro strap. Over the iPods screen and around the click wheel is a clear plastic which protects the screen. It does tend to bow out a bit when you use bigger iPods such as the 40gb and 60gb, but it still stays very usable and does tend to bow back to its shape after awhile. The sides of this case also are flexible to allow you to fit in any 4th generation iPod (including iPod photos).
As I said this is a simplistic case, so there are no credit cards slots, etc. on the case. But on the top there is a cutout for the headphones which is lined with a rubber around the edge which really finishes it off.
For a belt clip, this case features the MultiDapt system that we have talked about before on Marware cases. Included is a stationary belt clip, but you can also buy swivel clips, bike mounts, etc. online from Marware. For my use, and for most normal use, the stationary clip works perfectly. Overall I really liked this case. It was simple, yet awesome in its simplicity. The only complaint I have is that the plastic around the click wheel can bow out a bit with the larger iPods, but besides that I really liked the case. Thanks to Marware for the Review Sample! |
