Coming from Spain and handcrafted with a touch of luxury is the Piel Frama Leather Case. Piel Frama has always been one of our favorites in the past for their great presentation, design, and quality of workmanship. Every piece also has a bit of uniqueness and handcrafted elegance to it that makes it stand apart from the crowd. They also come packed in one of Piel Frama's great looking boxes that make a great first impression.

Design 8/10

With this case Piel Frama decided to take a flip type approach that is kept closed with two magnet discs. The outside is very clean cut and simple with cutouts for the dock port, headphones, and the standby button on the top while the inside has three credit card size pockets. You cannot put too much in these pockets though as the case does not like to close fully with a lot of stuff in the pockets, in fact it is best to have nothing in these pockets for the case to close nicely and correctly.

The front flap is slightly padded feeling which gives added protection for the front screen of the iPod. Looking on the back we find Piel Frama's standard removable belt clip system that features a color matched post that is removable with the included tool. You can place a plug here if you do not want to use the belt clip. This is a neat system, but it would be nice if Piel Frama had an option when ordering to buy the case without the belt clip altogether for those that do not use/need a belt clip system for the case.

Another interesting inclusion was a soft chamois cleaning cloth and empty spray bottle that you can fill with mineral water to clean your screen. A nice added bonus.

Build Quality 9/10

As to be expected from Piel Frama, the build quality is excellent. Because the cases are handmade, there can be some slight differences or stitching differences in areas that add to the uniqueness of the case. The fit for the iPod Touch is perfect though and all stitching is clean. The quality of the leather is very good as well, it is soft yet durable and should last for years of usage.

Usage 8/10

Using the Piel Frama Leather Case with the iPod Touch was a joy and it worked well for most situations. The fit of the iPod Touch in the case was very good and everything lined up well and was easily accessible. At times the flip up cover can be a bit annoying, but that is the price you pay for added protection.

For those wanting to use the belt clip system, Piel Frama's system works very well and is easy to remove and reattach securely. It also allows 360 degrees of rotation and can be inserted into the belt clip at any angle.

Price 7/10

For Americans right now, the price is a bit steep. The leather and build quality is worth it in my opinion, but others might have a hard time justifying the cost over other options available.
