Link: www.Marware.com Price: $44.95 Marware has always provided us with very high quality products for Apple (Mac) products, and today I am proud to review their Sportfolio for the Mac Mini. This is a small case to carry your Mac Mini and other things along with you where ever you go. First impressions of this case are very good. Looking through the case, at the stitching, where handles go into the case, etc. everything looked perfect and I saw no apparent flaws in manufacture, loose threads, etc.
This case is made out of neoprene (like a wetsuit) which gives this case a very sporty feel. The whole case is black except for the front panel which is blue with the Marware logo on it. The neoprene also gives the case protective properties for whatever you put into the case (specifically the Mac Mini). Neoprene, being a bit flexible, can absorb bumps and falls thus protecting your Mac Mini. Inside the case, the compartments are lined with a softer fabric again to protect whatever you put in the case. For carrying your items, the case is broken into two zippered compartments that are roughly the same size. There also is a non-zippered, open, pouch on the front of the case (which is made by the blue neoprene on the front). To keep your contents safe, the corners and flat parts of the case have plastic inserts (not visible) built into the case. These inserts do not make the case totally solid, so it still is flexible and not like a hard case. Also, the sides and bottom are covered in a soft non-slip material that makes it so the case does not skid around on its own if you have it in a car, boat, plane, etc. The final measure of protection for what you are carrying are the dual lined zippers, which have neoprene on the inside that cover the zipper to prevent the weather from getting into the contents of your Sportfolio.
The Mac Mini fits perfectly into the Sportfolio plus the Sportfolio is not much bigger than the Mac Mini, which means it is extremely portable (the sport folio about the size of two Mac Minis stacked on top of each other). You also have plenty of room to put your power adapter, a few accessories, and probably even an iPod, or other gadget. In use the Sportfolio works very well, being small, light, and portable along with your Mac Mini, you can easily take the Sportfolio where ever you go. The quality is unsurpassed for a neoprene case, and even down to the fine details like the non-slip bottom, and zippers that have Marware's logo on them, this case is perfect. Overall this is the best small scale, fitted, Mac Mini case I have seen. It truly is small and portable, and I for one have not seen anything that can compete with it on the market. Thanks to Marware for the Review Sample! |
