Razer Armadillo Mouse Cable Holder How many times have you been working on your computer with your mouse only to keep having to pull on the cord since it keeps sliding behind the desk? I personally have this happen quite a lot and I know that many others out there have the same problem with wired mice. Well one of the leaders in the gaming mouse community has come out with their take on a solution to the problem, the Armadillo.
Coming in a small box, the Armadillo is simply a piece of metal that has a screw top and four grooves on the sides. It is simply made to hold your mouse's cable on the desk and to keep it from sliding away. The Armadillo has a nice cone shape that hides itself away on your desk and blends in nicely.
On my main PC I use a wireless mouse, but on my other machine I use a wired mouse. To get setup I simply unscrewed the Armadillo's cap, set my mouse's cable in two of the grooves, and screwed the cap back on. There is a bit of oil on the threads, but this is to make it screw and unscrew easily so it is unavoidable. It simply wipes off the cable and there is just a little bit so there is no issue with it getting everywhere.
Simple as that and I must say that it makes a huge difference. Not having to constantly pull the full weight of the mouse's cable around makes using the mouse much more enjoyable and more accurate for doing detail work. Overall the Razer Armadillo is a great little gadget and add-on for your mouse. It works well and does exactly what it is meant to do while doing it in style. I would like to see Razer try and bring the price down a bit though as $19.99 is a bit steep for a small piece of metal. Also, a non-slip pad on the bottom would be nice as currently it is just smooth metal which tends to move around after a lot of use on wooden and slippery surfaces. Pros:
Cons:
Thanks to Razer for the review sample!
