Pocket PC for Everyone PDF Book
Many people these days are investing
their money in PDAs (Personal Data Assistants), and a
growing number are switching from Palm Pilots to the
newest type of PDA, the PPC or Pocket PC. The Pocket PC
is almost like a mini computer. There are many makes and
models out there with the two main companies leading the
industry,
Hewlett Packard and
Dell. HPs line of Pocket PCs is called the Ipaq and
Dell’s line of Pocket PCs is the Axim. There are other
companies also such as Toshiba, Asus, and Viewsonic that
have their own Pocket PC models on the market. But there
is one thing they all share, and that is the Pocket PC
operating system (OS) by Microsoft. This OS brings
mobile PDAs to a whole new level with the ability to
have a friendly user interface and expandability almost
like your computer, being able to add new software
programs like games, utilities, and even media players.
You can play videos, music, games, and keep track of
your life from a small device that fits in the palm of
your hand.
So where does this
book come into play? This book is aimed at people new to
the Pocket PC system wanting to learn what they can do
with their new little gadget. It helps you learn how to
do basic tasks and learn about some of the uses and
abilities of the Pocket PC operating system. This guide
is not specific to any device, as there are many out
there all with small differences. For example, your
Pocket PC may not have a CF card slot and someone else’s
may have one since there are so many models and makes
out there, so I base this book on the Pocket PC
operating system that is put on all Pocket PCs because,
of course, the operating system is why they are called
Pocket PCs. I hope you enjoy this book and learn a
little more about your Pocket PC. You will learn about
things that you can do that you may never have known
were possible on your Pocket PC.
