The JavoEdge Silicone Ipod case is another fine product from JavoEdge, the maker of Pocket PC and Mobile Device Accessories. The Silicone case is a skin type case so it is meant to fit to your Ipod perfectly.

First off I should start by saying that the version that I reviewed is for the 20gb 4G Ipod, but to review I used a 30gb Ipod Photo (the 30gb is in between the 20gb and 40gb Ipods in thickness). Since the Silicone case is somewhat flexible, it ended up fitting almost perfectly with just a minor bit of an oval effect around the click wheel.

The JavoEdge Silicone case comes in a very professional blister pack along with a removable belt clip post and belt clip, plus a white lanyard. The packaging is the same, just smaller, as the packaging for JavoEdge's Silicone case for the X50v PDA.

Once you have the case out of the packaging, you will want to put your Ipod into it. To do this you go through the cutout for the screen and insert the Ipod bottom first. You then peel the case around to fit the Ipod. This can take a bit of effort as the silicone is a no slip type silicone, and on the Ipod's shiny metal, it can create some resistance. But putting the Ipod in the case did not prove to be too much of a hassle.

After you have the Ipod in the case, you will notice that there are cutouts for all the buttons and areas that need access to on the Ipod. There is a large cutout on top for the Headphone, Hold Button, and Accessory Port. On the front there is a round cutout for the click wheel and a rectangle cutout for the screen, and finally there is a cutout on the bottom for the sync port. Also on the back are wave like cutouts that provide airflow to the Ipod to keep it from over heating.

All the cutouts lined up very well, like stated earlier, the click wheel circle had a bit of an oval effect that did not cover the click wheel at all. This is of course because I was using the 30gb in this 20gb Ipod case. All the other cutouts seemed to line up perfectly and look great.

The silicone case is very nice to hold and in my mind feels great in your hand because it does not add much to the dimensions of the Ipod. Also the silicone case had 4 small points that come out on the back to serve as feet for when you set your Ipod on a flat surface. Overall I really like the silicone, except it does tend to collect debris and dust. This is one thing that JavoEdge has said they will work on in future versions of this case.

The belt clip system is totally removable and to use it, you screw in a small metal post into a screw hole on the back of the case. Then you connect the belt clip to this post. This is the same system on JavoEdge's other silicone cases and it seems to work perfectly.

Overall this is a great skin case for your Ipod. It is the same silicone and setup as JavoEdge's other silicone cases and I personally love this case. It works well and provides good protection from slight bumps and falls. If you are looking for a skin case, I would take a look at this case!

Thanks to JavoEdge for the Review Sample!
