PDair Aluminum iPod Photo Case PDair has recently come out with a new aluminum case for the iPod photo series. This includes the 30, 40, and 60gb versions so you must remember that the 30gb has a bit of room to move around as it is thinner then the 40/60gb versions.
The case comes in one of PDair's standard blister packs. The case is rectangular in shape but has a cutout for the click wheel and screen on the front. Another neat feature is that the screen cutout has a built in plastic that serves as a screen protector. On the top there is a cutout for the headphone slot and hold button, plus there is the tab that keeps the case closed. The bottom has the hinge and opening for the sync port. On the back you will find a little bump in each corner that makes it so the case sits flat on a table. There also are two holes for a lanyard, and the screw area for the belt clip system.
Inserting the iPod into the case is as easy as it could be. You open the case, lay the iPod flat into the case, then close the case again. Inside the case there is neoprene to protect your iPod. When you want to take the iPod out, you can open the case, then push the iPod out by pressing on the back of the iPod through the sync port opening.
Once in the case everything lines up perfectly. The only thing that is not perfect with the 30gb iPod is that there is a gap between the front of the case and the front of the iPod. This is because the 30gb version is not as thick as the 40/60gb versions. I found that you could fix this problem by putting a thin sheet of foam behind the 30gb iPod before putting it in the case. The included belt clip works great and is PDair's standard system. The post is removable and screws onto the case. Being a swivel clip, the belt clip can also swing a full 360 degrees. Overall I thought the PDair case was a good solid case that provided good protection. It may not be the prettiest case, but it does provide good protection. Pros:
Cons:
