Sena Cases iPod Touch Premium Stand
Price: $49.95

Sena Cases has always been a great middle man in the leather case world. Their
cases are made very well and use leather that is a great step up from your
standard mass produced leather cases (Belkin, Griffin, etc.) but at a price that
will not break that bank. In the past I have personally found the leather to not
be quite as nice as the premium Piel Frama and Vaja Cases products, but it is
still extremely durable and a joy to use. For most that have not used a Piel
Frama or Vaja Case, the Sena will feel like no other that you can find in
stores.

Sena Cases has a nice packaging setup as well, coming in a gloss box and a small
red Sena Cases pouch.

Design 8/10
The Premium Stand for iPod Touch is yet another flip style case, but this one is
a horizontal flip case that closes with a snap. The outside is simplistic with
just the snap closure. Inside you will find a single pocket on one side for
thing things again (business cards, etc) and then the space for the iPod Touch
which provides cutouts for all the main functions including the auto brightness
sensor! When closed you still have access to the dock connector, headphone port,
and standby button.

For the party trick, this case can use its snap closure system in reverse to
form a stand that has the iPod Touch horizontally positioned. This is awesome
for watching movies and videos without having to hold your iPod the whole time.
I found it great on the airplane for example, setting the whole setup on my tray
table while watching a movie.

Build Quality 10/10
Sena Cases does a great job with their cases and this one was no exception. All
the stitching was clean and well done and no matter the angle, everything was
put together properly and perfectly. The leather is more like Piel Framas with a
softer padded feel and again quality that should be durable in years of usage.
Usage 7/10
With the Premium Stand case I found the stand system to be a real joy to use.
For other normal usage however I did not care for the book type opening as much.
It felt in the way a lot as you tend to hold the iPod Touch vertically with one
hand while using it. The piece around the front of the iPod Touch also tended to
flop around a bit as it was not attached along the whole one edge on the spine
(as that is where the iPod is inserted from). This is something I do not know
how Sena could remedy as it comes with this type of design, but it is something
for buyers to keep in mind.

Price 10/10
The price is right in the sweet spot for most people at around $50. It is a bit
more than your standard mass marketed case, but you get way more for the money
and a case that is designed well and going to last for a long time.
Pros:
- Very good craftsmanship
- Good quality leather
- Works as a stand!
Cons:
- Book type opening makes normal use a bit difficult
- One of the edges by the screen likes to bow upward
Thanks to Sena Cases for the review
