Covertec X50/X50v Leather Case (Remember to Click on Pictures to Enlarge) The Covertec X50 case is of similar style to the Piel Frama and Sena cases. It has a flip top design that is secured by a magnetic strip that comes up from the bottom (unlike coming from the top on the Piel Frama). The Covertec came in a very nice looking retail blister pack (plastic) and the case was clearly visible from the outside. Inside the blister pack, the case is in a box that is like the Piel Frama box. Everything is very professional looking and is probably the best packaging of any case I have received. The package comes with the case, 2 screws for the belt clip, the belt clip post, the belt clip, and a mini screw driver. First I will go over the closing mechanism. It is a simple strap that has a round grommet built into the end. On the top flip over part of the case, there is a round metal piece with a point in the middle that fits into the grommet hole to make for a perfect fit. The magnet is very strong and works great to secure the case shut. I prefer the magnet to a snap as it is much easier to work with and is extremely easy to open and close. Another cool feature on the Covertec that I have never seen before is that the strap part can be pushed back into the case so that it is barely visible and out of the way. This is great as it gets the strap out of the way so that it is not hanging in your way while using your PDA. The case comes in three colors, either Black (used in this review), Red, or Brown. The leather is very nice and smooth on the outside, and all the seams of the case are perfect with no errors. The inside of the case is a soft more plastic like leather that seems to be very durable. Inside the case there are slots for 2 SD cards, 2 Credit Cards, and there is also one bigger pocket. The case supports the PDA just around the bottom, but holds it very tight and seems to keep the PDA in place perfectly. It is nice that you do not see the case all the way around the screen of your PDA. The sides of the case are also open so that all buttons are easily accessible. The belt clip system that comes along with the case works very well on the case there is a screw hole. You then put on a small round plastic piece that serves as the belt clip post. They include a screw driver so you have everything you need to screw on the post. The belt clip then just slides over the post and secures itself. To release the belt clip, you squeeze the two sides and it slides off. This system works great and seems to be very sturdy and strong. The belt clip is also nice and wide so that stays flat against your body and does not move around too much. It is also nice that you do not have to have it on if you do not need a belt clip. Overall this is a great case for its relatively low cost. It has all the features and awesome quality. I also love the magnet closure and the ability for the strap to go back into the case so that it is not hanging out while in use. The only thing that is a little different on this case is that it is bulky around the bottom because of the strap. It is not huge, but not as thin as some cases out there. Thanks to Covertec for the product to review
