Piel Frama Extended Batt Case
Piel Frama X50 + Extended Battery Crocodile Case
www.PielFrama.com Price: $90 Euros (approx. 117 USD)
The Piel Frama X50v Extended Battery case is designed to hold your X50/X50v
with the extended battery installed. The extended battery adds a bulge to the
bottom of the X50 which has made it a challenge for companies to make a case
that fits it. Now lets take a look at Piel Frama's solution.
The Piel Frama Case comes in Piel Frama's signature little box with a paper
liner. The box is very professional looking and gives a nice bit of class to the
presentation. In this review, I reviewed the Crocodile X50 Extended Battery
Case. The Crocodile has a black color and very nice pattern and feel to it. The
inside of the Crocodile case is Piel Frama's regular black leather.
The X50 Extended Battery Croc case is the same as the X50 Croc case except there
is more material in thickness towards the bottom of the case to allow for the
extended battery.

After sliding the X50 into the case, the fit was a bit tight at first. It seemed
hard to close the snap clasp that holds the case shut. But after playing with it
a bit I was able to line up all the cutouts and get the snap shut. It was a bit
hard this first time. Then I let the case sit overnight with the X50 in it. The
next day the fit was perfect, the leather stretched a bit and fit the X50
perfectly now. The snap now closed perfectly also.
Now after sitting over night and achieving a perfect fit, the case was ready to
be put to work. After using it for a few days, I felt that it held the X50 well
and the cutouts all lined up very well. Every now and then I would need to push
the X50 back into perfect alignment, but overall it worked out well. It is a bit
different on the back as the case curves up at the top (since the battery only
bulges at the bottom) but this is just the way the actual PDA is shaped, nothing
to do with the case.

Overall the case performed well and had a good fit. To badly the X50 with its
ugly bulge is hard to make a shapely case for, and the Piel Frama shows this a
bit with the curve in the back. Some will not notice this, but this is something
that I noticed over the more straight back that I saw in the Sena Extended
Battery Case. This is by far not a reason to not buy this case though. It has a
great fit, unbelievable quality as with all Piel Frama Products, and does a
great job of making your X50 look professional.

Pros
- Great Quality Leather
- Great Presentation
- Great Build Quality
Cons
- Curve in back to accommodate battery can be awkward
- X50 Can slightly change position in case requiring an adjustment every
now and then
